The Challenge
Infrastructure NSW (INSW) is the NSW Government agency responsible for the oversight and delivery of high-quality infrastructure projects undertaken on behalf of the NSW Government. INSW is responsible for reviewing all major infrastructure project business cases and providing recommendations prior to government investment decisions. Historically, these business cases, with limited exceptions, have not been made public. In 2023, the NSW Government sought to ensure that NSW taxpayers had visibility of the project investment case after such decisions were made through a business case summary report.
The Action
Polis Partners worked with INSW to deliver over 30 business case summary reports covering a range of infrastructure projects, including transport, health, regional development, and education. Polis Partners also collaborated with INSW to improve and streamline the process of completing such reports, which will be required for all future NSW Government projects.
