The Challenge
SEQ Water engaged RP Infrastructure and Polis Partners to review its Capital Investment Assurance Framework to align with industry best practice and strengthen governance. The goal was to ensure capital projects are delivered efficiently, transparently, and in line with strategic, community, and government expectations.
The Action
Polis Partners supported the evaluation and refinement of SEQ Water’s framework by:
- Benchmarking against industry standards to identify improvement opportunities
- Assessing governance and project approval processes
- Developing a Principal Project Requirements template for structured initiation
- Creating Gateway Review Checklists to support consistent assessments
- Proposing an alternative framework structure to enhance efficiency and accountability
The Results
The review delivered a more transparent and robust investment framework, improving project governance and alignment with strategic objectives. The costbenefit analysis confirmed a net benefit to SEQ Water and the Queensland Government, supporting stronger investment decisions and funding outcomes.
