The Challenge

National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), Australia’s premier performing arts institution, sought a robust evaluation of its economic and social impact to support funding applications and strategic planning. The challenge was to quantify its direct contributions and the long-term value generated to the media and arts industry as well as the broader economy through alumni and industry partnerships.

The Action

Polis Partners, in conjunction with RP Infrastructure, conducted an economic impact assessment of NIDA’s operations, alumni outcomes, workforce development role, and cultural influence. The outputs were incorporated into a broader submission to government for funding.

The Results

The analysis confirmed NIDA’s net economic benefit to the creative sector and national economy, reinforcing its case for continued public and philanthropic investment. It provided a clear, evidence-based framework to communicate NIDA’s value to government and industry stakeholders
